Woof! I know it’s been quite a while since I last blogged. I would just like everyone to know that I’m still here but as you know, I have not learned to type on the keyboard yet and since the human’s been quite busy these days, I haven’t had the chance to blog. I do visit the other pet blogs as much as I can though. I hope I can get back to regular programming soon…

The PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society) animal shelter has a monthly overhead cost of P75,000 - an amount that goes to the purchase of food and medicine for the animals and the payment of utilities and allowances for our skeletal staff of six.

Monthly donations do not even reach 1/4 of the amount of overhead expenses and so we have to organize a lot of local fundraising events just to get by.

DINE WITH PAWS is our biggest fundraiser this year. Help us keep our shelter so that we can continue help animals.

The weather here is kinda weird. Sometimes it rains for a while, then it gets hot again. Sometimes the wind is kinda cool even if there is no rain. But most of the time it really is just HOT.

Well, speaking of hot, here is Laika sunbathing under the early morning sun:

Sometimes I hear people talk about cats and dogs, comparing who’s smarter. Obviously, cat lovers will automatically say cats are smarter while dog lovers usually say dogs are smarter. We don’t live with cats at home so I honestly could not compare myself to a cat right now.

I found this very nice article on the web though. And it explains that you really can’t compare the two. This is because dogs and cats are very different from each other. You can’t say dogs are smarter just because they are easily trained and can perform tricks and various tasks for people. On the other hand, you can’t say cats are smarter either just because they are independent creatures and refuse to do things they don’t want to do. Dogs have a social nature while cats are independent and does not need to belong to a pack. Read this article to know more. Bottom line is, both cats and dogs are smart in their own different ways.

I would like to share this wonderful video of a 2 year old boy and his dog who spend the day together being friends. It’s an amazing little video that highlights the bond between a boy and his dog.

I managed to chip off one end of my fidofootball. Oops. This toy used to squeak. Well now, obviously it doesn’t anymore. Hihihi.

The heat has been terrible. Yes, it’s still crazy hot here and we’re not too crazy about it. So sometimes I get to play indoors. And this weekend, my human taught me a new command - ‘drop’. That means, I have to drop the ball after fetching it. Usually she’d have to get it from my mouth when I give it to her. So this time she said I had to learn to drop the ball on command. I got it a few times but still need more practice. I’m still used to handing it to her and wait for her to get it from my mouth. Hehe.

Nothing interesting’s been happening around here lately so yeah, it’s been kinda boring…

I look more like I’m drunk than bored in this picture though. Hehe!
