Sometimes I hear people talk about cats and dogs, comparing who’s smarter. Obviously, cat lovers will automatically say cats are smarter while dog lovers usually say dogs are smarter. We don’t live with cats at home so I honestly could not compare myself to a cat right now.
I found this very nice article on the web though. And it explains that you really can’t compare the two. This is because dogs and cats are very different from each other. You can’t say dogs are smarter just because they are easily trained and can perform tricks and various tasks for people. On the other hand, you can’t say cats are smarter either just because they are independent creatures and refuse to do things they don’t want to do. Dogs have a social nature while cats are independent and does not need to belong to a pack. Read this article to know more. Bottom line is, both cats and dogs are smart in their own different ways.
Wow, cats really are so much different, huh? I wonder how cats would feel like to live under a roof with me. Would they want to run and play fetch, play tug-of-war, and splash around on some puddles with me? I don’t think so. Hehehe.
Woof!

I agree with you that cats and dogs are smart in their own ways. They have different temperaments SS loves anything with four legs, a tail and is furry, so there is no point asking her. She will just agree and say that we are all smart because we can twist her around we paws with absolutely no effort. Just have to look cute and she’ll do anything.
Great post! Being a lover of both dogs and cats, I have never really understood the fight over which is better, smarter, cuter, etc. I currently serve three cats, and I think all three of them are the smartest pets I’ve ever met LOL. Their intelligence is just manifested in a different way than dogs show their intelligence. Thanks for sharing!
